I was born and raised in Tennessee. I love all things southern…nothing better than sweet tea and the SEC! You will find me cheering GoVOLS on Saturdays in the fall.
My husband and I are crazy busy raising our 2 boys. I will add the cheer “Hotty Toddy” this fall when my oldest heads to college. My youngest son is a serious baseball player – so I spend a lot of time at the ballfield…like, a LOT of time. #IYKYK
I love being a speech therapist. I decided in middle school this is what I wanted to do after watching a movie about a boy who stuttered. That decision was solidified in college when my uncle suffered a traumatic brain injury. Watching his therapist give him back the ability to communicate was inspiring.
I’ve worked in just about every setting from the NICU to nursing homes, I now own a private practice serving a school-based population. It’s the best gig! I set my own hours, no IEPs, and minimal paperwork! Over the years, my passion for literacy grew and my practice treats language and literacy-based disorders.
I also have a Teachers Pay Teachers store where I create resources for other SLPs. I LOVE making effective and engaging activities to make other SLPs feel more confident in therapy.
